“Three tribal members” who? What is the reasoning? Native Americans are still people and can be validly detained.

Native Americans can be Canadian, Latin American, or be citizens of another country with heritage here.

The Sioux have been living in those parts since at least 900 AD

They’re the Oglala Sioux my dude they’re only in the USA stop trying to stretch this shit. All three of these people are US citizens. To quote their president “The Oglala Sioux Tribe’s memorandum makes clear that ‘tribal citizens are not aliens’ and are ‘categorically outside immigration jurisdiction. Enrolled tribal members are citizens of the United States by statute and citizens of the Oglala Sioux Nation by treaty.”

Like bruh they were detained for being brown they are not immigrant Oglala Sioux. Additionally, members of American Indian Tribes who were born in Canada cannot be denied entry into the United States.

This actually did make me go down a fascinating rabbit hole about the regulations regarding American Indians in Canada and Mexico which I actually didn’t know about before

Modern archaeologists and historians now support the hypothesis that indigenous peoples reached the America via boats traveling along the pacific coast, and current archeology indicates this migration slightly predates the formation of the beringian land bridge. This is pedantic but is intended to show that I am well aware of the migration history. They are the least immigrant out of anyone because they got here first out of all modern people groups in the Americas.

It’s a very similar migration pathway. It’s just across water rather than across land, which makes more sense due to available food resources, linguistics, and the current archaeology, which has evidence of human habitation in the Americas before the beringian land bridge formed

The blue arrow is the old hypothesis, the red solid arrow is the new “kelp highway” hypothesis, and the red dotted arrow is a bs hypothesis you can ignore that
