To distinguish from transgender

Yeah it’s mainly only used as a medical description but as someone who is trans i wouldn’t ever just use it casually in conversation especially if someone didn’t want to be referred to as that

You probably don’t know what the word means.

But all it really means is that your not trans which I would never use to insult you or anyone but I promise it’s not a bad word

I should add that i’m not coming at this from a place of hate. I truly believe that labeling people as trans/cis (when not needed, obviously there are circumstances where it needs to be addressed) creates a bigger divide between us. I think we should call everyone as who they choose to identify as and not try and put them in a subcategory of who they are.

I do and I’m not saying this out of a place of hate at all I just think it creates a bigger divide between us all

I would agree with you

This is a good point. I think particularly when people try to treat “trans woman” as if that isn’t just a subset of women (and vice versa with trans man).

Then you are stupid.

Read my response to #4. I’m not trying to come across as insensitive or ignorant it’s just my perspective on it. I’m not trying to be rude so there’s no need for you to be rude towards me.

But 99% of the time, ppl only distinguish between cis and trans when it’s relevant? To faux outrage and pretend it’s not is just playing into trans panic

Like I said, read my response to #4. I’m not creating a faux outrage over this

Incorrect. 1. I didn’t say that. 2. It was said after you already told me to read your idiotic nonsense.

Stupidity is far more offensive to me than bigotry.

Im genuinely not trying to come off as offensive and if I did I apologize. All I want is to be able to work towards becoming more inclusive and supportive of the trans community especially in the current climate of our country. I’m sorry if I offended you and if you could correct me that would be appreciated.
