I think the military is also filled with genuinely desperate people who saw it as a potential path to stability. They prey on kids in cities who might not otherwise be able to go to college or have a career path. Surely there’s MAGA dweebs but I’m still not gonna root for people to die

shit i mean kinda but also not really. military is a really weird one where white people (non-Hispanic) are represented similar to the national population, but black people are also a higher % compared to the national population. War with Iran will, and you may have heard this part before, disproportionately harm black Americans.

I have a couple friends in the military and they’re all there so that they can afford to move out of their parent’s house and go to college, and one of them is in the military because it’s the only way to get health insurance for his family. It’s not just conservatives being affected, it’s also poor people trying to live a better life.
