Hating AI is one of the many bandwagons that the hive mind of the internet produced. Ai has been around since the 50s and has some benefits. Is it bad for the environment? Yes so are our cars and phones. As it stands in terms of pollution and water usage, golf courses are worse than data centers but no one is talking about that.

Emphasis on here though. Most of them don’t use it, and refuse to use it. They insist all it does is hallucinate stuff or generate slop videos. Like honestly if I were an Anthropic or OpenAI lobbyist I’d just lobby to ban AI slop (idk how) because all it serves to do is piss people off.

My point literally is these people have no interaction with a very useful tool. They are essentially just luddites and of whole cloth form post-hoc justifications for their hatred of it.
