It might have become the plan once they realized what was being done to their military, but they cannot conceivably have desired to lose their leadership, air defense, navy, most advanced aircraft, and missile launchers within the first week, with the hope that the regime could still survive after. Now they’ll have hardly anything to threaten their enemies with, practically no leverage and nothing to defend against whenever the U.S. and Israel decide to hit them back.

well to be fair i don’t think this was ever their plan, the US and Israel initiated this. i think Iran probably would have preferred to wait until it was stronger

The Iranians had to have known, not only after the round of strikes several months ago, but decades of creating and supporting regional proxies and terrorist groups, assisting in IED development, and slaughtering thousands of their own people while chanting death to America, that this was probably coming soon. What I’m getting at is that they’ve been preparing for a conflict for a long time, it just seems like they didn’t expect it would go so badly

yeah no i totally agree that they have been antagonizing us and preparing for this forever and they knew it was coming. i think that maybe they just didn’t know it was coming right now or as ferociously as it has. i guess what i’m saying is military trouncing aside i’d be wary of thinking this will be an easy victory

For sure, and I’m glad our military evidently hadn’t been hamstrung by Trump’s stupidity. I’m concerned that his dumbass will push for a ground invasion when the best move would be to keep hitting them for a few more days and then unilaterally fuck off and say they’ve had enough or something
