One of the biggest problems we have right now is over-financialization. Our economy should be primarily based on production and services, not lending, speculation, and glorified gambling. This is a serious problem and will bite us in the ass eventually.

It’s biting us in the ass right now. More and more businesses are sold to private equity and traded on gray-markets intended to make every cut possible before shutting them down and liquifying them. Our 401ks are being forced to buy into a failed space company turned AI business. The rich get richer while everyone else gets poorer, the middle class is disappearing and being replaced with an even larger wealth disparity between the few at the top and the rest of the world at the bottom.

To play devils advocate, I see the value that things like kalshi can provide for price discovery. However, the fact that it offers wagering on pre-recorded TV shows, wars, and other pointless shit makes it beyond useless and a harm to young people, especially coupled with their incessant ads. But in theory, an over the counter marketplace like Kalshi, if used correctly, offers a lot of information for things like elections, niche financial markets, etc. Needs safeguards and real regulation.

We’re fucked at some point. Once USD floods back to America, we’re beyond screwed in this country.

Our current economy is being propped up by three bubbles: debt, AI, and crypto
