Who do you think this individual should play with?

Hormone therapy changes secondary sex characteristics after a few years and makes trans people essentially their desired sex. Trans women after a medical transition are female and trans men after a medical transition are male. Therefore they belong in the sport of their respective sex

Get rid of all gender segregation in sports

Non issue, trans people should be able to play in sports without issue

The #1 rule of biology is that there is always an exception to the rule. Look up de la Chapelle syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, Turner syndrome, or the myriad of other hormonal or chromosomal abnormalities that result in someone’s physical sex not matching what would be expected from their karyotype. And before you say, “well those are outliers and don’t count”, I counter by asking whether those people are just legally barred from sports since they don’t fit your narrow and false definitions.

Do you think at all levels and leagues of sports this should apply?

What about women who were born, live, and function as women, but have XY chromosomes? Or women with naturally high testosterone? What about all the women who massively out perform trans athletes in said support? Should they all be banned since, as you imply, they clearly should be competing with men?

Bro I guarantee you post this shit and you’re a fat fuck. I played varsity for four years, you never played on a team in your life. Suck my trans cock, fggt

Idk, is the individual genetically a male or female? All sports require a physical before participating, in the United States. So that’s where the answer would be

upvote -11 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #2 1d

No, even after hormone therapy they genetically can still have more muscle than a female

Anonymous replying to -> #3 1d

Why?

upvote -1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 1d

It’s not needed. We do it to cater to certain people who aren’t as good at sports, which defeats the whole purpose of sports to begin with

upvote 16 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> OP 1d

And genetically Shaq is taller than me and probably you too. Should he be barred from competing against us due to an unfair biological advantage?

upvote 19 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #3 1d

But that is the purpose of sports? Sports are meant to be competitive, high school sports and college sports have different levels, if you aren’t good enough then you practice to be good enough. The Categories are there to allow female to have the chance to be competitive against females because they share the same genetic structure, male vs male is the same

Isnt that why we are barred from playing with shaq? he played in the NBA they don’t let random people play in the NBA.

Anonymous replying to -> #2 1d

No, because he is a male, I can still build muscle and gain more speed to beat him, to go against that argument look at muggsy Bogues, who is 5 3, Shaq even said he was scared of muggsy soooo

Okay, they can play in sports, either make their own category for trans people, or only let them play in their generic sex category

upvote -5 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 1d

Ok so this literally has nothing to do with genetic advantage at all, you’re just saying shit you don’t believe in. Shaq objectively has a biological advantage against you lol but coincidentally the problem is only worth addressing when it’s trans people

Or change the requirements so that it’s about physical capacity, not hormones and put them with the athletes who meet that criteria

They allow people into the NBA who are objectively less biologically advantaged than Shaq is lol

But there’s some required biological advantage to be in the NBA

Anonymous replying to -> #3 1d

this and go by weight class + skill level

upvote 3 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 1d

So then it’s about the amount of advantage. Should a man whose genetics make them inherently taller, stronger, and more athletic than the average male NBA player be allowed in?

🌊
Anonymous replying to -> #5 1d

It’s not one thing or another it’s a holistic set of traits.

Should they? Just engage with the hypothetical

What traits in particular are you referring to? And what skills?

upvote 9 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #2 1d

Bro what muggsy wins because of how fast and shifty he is, genetically he is able to do that. If you want another example look at how a group of high school boys soccer team beat the Olympic us women’s soccer team

Anonymous replying to -> #2 1d

Strength, height, fast twitch muscles & basketball skills shooting dribbling, etc.

Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 1d

So if it is a mix of traits and skills, what is the problem with letting in people with a biological advantage? By your own admission, the skills are just as important

Dawg that soccer game was informal scrimmage practice 😭

🌊
Anonymous replying to -> #2 1d

I never said the skills are just as important you would need both, that doesn’t mean that they’re equal (depending on what you mean). They just necessitate each other. If we’re talking about the NBA there shouldn’t be an upper limit bc it’s the top of professional basketball.

PMOS, a disease where the body often produces excess androgens, affects about 1 in 8 women

upvote 5 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #9 1d

yeah excess androgens effect excess hair growth, imbalanced hormones, and slightly higher testosterone levels, not enough to compare them to trans women. In the very rare case that they have virilization which is less than 1% of women so that isn’t a valid counter argument.

I literally already laid out my counter for what you’re saying in my original comment. Did you even read it? “Rare” doesn’t mean “nonexistent”, and the law has to take these people into account.

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #13 23h

And also, 1 in 500-1000 is hardly classed as “exceptionally rare”. Even taking the low end of incidence (1:1000) that still means there are approximately 342,000 people in the US alone that you want to exclude from sports (and probably using public restrooms) simply because their chromosomes don’t match their physical sex.

Who fucking cares. Majority of ppl don’t have the same amount as muscle as the people they are competing against. Some naturally born women can also have hormone issues that cause them to have higher levels of testosterone. Should they be forced to play in men’s leagues? And women don’t need men to protect us (we know u rlly don’t care about protecting women).. we are perfectly capable of being just as good if not better than a man at any sport

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #8 17h

You also are assuming that all 343,000 of those people want to play sports. So why would the law need to account for such a small part of the population that we aren’t even sure are playing sports. Also I ever said anything about excluding people?

upvote -3 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #13 15h

Let’s say that even just one single person out of that population wants to play sports. Why should they be legally barred from doing so just because they don’t neatly fit into the categories of male and female? Besides this practice being literally against the law (see: Americans with Disabilities Act), it’s morally wrong. Edge cases happen literally all the time, ask any web developer, and if the law doesn’t take these edge cases into account, it will inevitably run afoul of other laws.
