Tbf, he didn’t force them to take up arms and that’s WHY they failed at Harper’s Ferry. He came to liberate them, a few now freed men joined him, while others were too afraid to join or to rise up, and so they didn’t. Not saying you’re wrong, but it’s a little more nuanced yk
