YES. it is ok to not want to protest too bc of how scary it truly is. you can do so many things from home and you can also do so many things on the sidelines. fundraising, providing snacks/medical aid/water to protesters, organizing events and drives, emailing whoever you can in the gov. I also hate when people criticize others for not posting on social media like sorry I am actually doing stuff besides reposting the same pic?
That’s another reason it bothers me so much. Not everyone is physically able to protest and some are too scared to. That being said, we need more than protesters. We need educators, artists, people to document stuff, people who know their way around the system to try to get around things and help people if they do end up in jail, etc. We shouldn’t be willing to sacrifice all of that just because some people want to shame others for not being grassroots protesters. Also the social media thing pt1
Long time protesters have said multiple times to stop posting so much of it, and to even leave your devices at home in case they try to track it. There’s also people in law who tell you they can use any and everything you’ve ever posted against you so posting every single thing you’re doing isn’t helpful for everyone and that’s fine
