I mean just go to a church or mosque or temple and if the messages speak to you badabing badaboom you’re religious

messages speaking to someone and being able to wholeheartedly believe in the divine that most religions set as qualifiers are two entirely different things

You gotta start somewhere. Baby steps man. Can’t believe in the divine if you can’t even believe in the messages the faith preaches, y’know?

as someone who grew up in a western country i basically ascribe to most Christian messages and teachings by default. doesn’t mean i believe in the supernatural aspects of it.

I’m just saying believing in the messages is the first step to developing or deepening a faith in anything. Have you given any organized religion a shot?

yes, i grew up religious and have done a lot of my own reading and research into other groups. i have yet to be convinced of any supernatural elements specifically that are central to most religions, nor have i been convinced as to why, factually, any religion is more correct than any of the other ones.

Many Jews don’t believe in god

sorry but that’s not an accurate statement. that is not monotheistic Judaism, that is “Jewish atheism”— people who follow the tunic and cultural construct of Jewishness, which is not considered a religion.

jewishness is also ethnic, religious, and/or national identity, so to be Jewish in itself doesn’t always imply belief in a deity.

I mean it seems like you don’t really want to be religious, which is OK. I don’t think religion makes things any easier than not being religious, so we’re all in the same boat

That’s not entirely true

You’re vastly oversimplifying and misunderstanding Judaism because you may be approaching it through an unintentional christian-like lens
