They don’t believe in a future. Genuinely. Ask them where they want the world to be in 20 years and they’ll offer a vague explanation at best about something like no more trans people and more Christianity. It’s why talking to them is so difficult, because their actions are all done with that lens. They just do stuff because it’s immediately satisfying and that’s it

It’s honestly a rather nihilistic social movement in a sense. They don’t believe in the future, all their current actions are done out of retribution for a perceived wrong done to them, and consequences be damned because ig heaven awaits or smth. Calling them a suicide cult dragging the country with them isn’t an exaggeration, it’s literally the case

I knew this app was an echo chamber, but this comment might take the cake. People from both "sides" do this. Many right wingers don't care/believe in climate change because they think it won't affect them. Just like how left wingers think banning (or severely limiting) guns won't affect how tyrannical a government can and will be. Also, don't just say "studies show". Not citing a source is as good as lying.

I actually agree with this as a liberal, but I would say that right wingers might be more likely to have that kind of black and white thinking because of the religious fundamentalism and xenophobia. i guess it really depends on the variables you use to measure it tho

The point is that unfair legislation could be passed. Like what if they outlawed freedom of speech & tried to arrest anyone who expressed certain views? That guy might not be doing anything illegal now, but he might be labeled a criminal if they pass legislation that punishes the expression of his political views
