They saw us as a temporary enemy as part of a bigger war. China has been their greatest enemy since long before the U.S. was even a colony. Shit China even invaded them again four years after we left

We’re cool with Germany and Japan now. The Russians are pretty chill with Afghanistan now. It’s just a reality of geopolitics that you forget the past pretty quickly depending on what’s happening now
