The republicans pushed for moderation and limitations on gerrymandering back in the 90s and early 2000s. The only reason dems are the ones pushing for it now is bc they’re not the ones using it. As soon as they can get their hands on the table, they’ll do the same EXACT thing.

I do not know which act specifically, however, Mitch McConnell proposed to severely limit gerrymandering in the 90s, followed by another push in the early 2000s. His proposal is actually the foundation of the Freedom to Vote Act.
