Bonus: both get their history from youtube videos, targeted books, and the occasional speaker

Tbh this is just hardline religion vs hardline scientific ideology when talking about religion. Both require some level of faith, and are based more in logical order than material truth.

I feel like online atheist kinda faded out of popularity, at least the hardcore Dawkins/Hitchens types.

I would disagree, ive rarely seen an Orthodox Jewish person getting into an online shouting match, or a monk, Christian or otherwise

Orthodox Jewish beliefs are centered pretty heavily on debate, so their logic in their belief might actually align with the scientific consensus in a lot of cases. Monks are typically pacifists, so I wouldn't think you would catch them arguing with anyone. Still, a heavily Islamist, Zoroastrian, or any number of other religious denominations, would likely disagree in a very similar way that a Christian would.

Yeah as someone who actually pays close attention to what’s going on in the atheist community, that old sort of debatebro group has faded away, especially as the contrarians have embraced right wing ideals and atheism becomes more diverse overall.
