If you’re not in/in the very near vicinity of NYC I’m gonna need you to shut the fuck up about the mayoral election. I get fuckin FOX News and CBS are based there so they always report on it but it’s NYCs business, not any of yours 😭

I don’t know who LAs mayor is, I don’t know who Chicagos mayor is, and honestly I don’t care. Bc it’s not gonna affect me, it’s not my business 😭😭

Oh well thank you I didn’t know that Regardless unless you’re really invested in like every major cities mayor for some reason there’s no reason for the general public to be this invested in the NYC election imo

Fox News does a few reports on it and all of a sudden everyone’s an expert on NYC and can speak on the candidates and what the needs for the city are 😭 everyone’s always got something to say and it’s frankly baffling to watch

I disagree; whether you like it or not, there is a mayoral candidate who is essentially serving as a proof-of-concept for how the Democratic party can evolve to counter this new age of fascism. That’s going to be interesting to half of the country and scandalous to the other half.

they are major tourist cities so their policy and how the city runs and functions more than a small town.

Like I said if you’re invested in the mayoral affairs of every major city then fine, track this if you want. But I feel like I’m hearing everyone open their mouths about this election specifically and it really just feels like a lot of people are just roleplaying as NYC residents/experts on the city to push their own agendas lmao

I agree Mamdani is kind of a polarizing candidate but tbh he’s not the first prolific progressive who’s entered elections. Is it because he’s probably gonna win? If that’s the case, yall are like, allowed to be interested. I’m just tired of everyone in the country having something to say about it tbh

Honestly, that’s all the intrigue is for me. I think a ton of progressives Dems would do well to take notes from his platform and messaging.
