there’s a certain depressing realization that hits once one connects the egregious greed for money with the pure survival-mode most of us are forced to live in. they’ve sufficiently pushed us into a position when the vast majority are seemingly happy with sacrificing any semblance of morals they might’ve once held dear, if they receive a perceived opportunity for higher wages, and by extension, a higher level of stability.

meanwhile, in this scenario specifically, the company in question is one in which is a leader in the “predictive policing” movement, essentially the act of “predicting crime before it happens” using a vast surveillance network fused with machine learning algorithms; and not only are they engaged in predictive policing, they’re also a major proponent of *automated weaponry*.

tldr; there’s a major difference between seeking out higher paying jobs as a means of securing or maintaining stability in our world, and willfully upholding the systems of oppression that forced us all into this position in the first place. you’re choosing the latter, over the former. there are other high paying jobs, that do not involve propping up, essentially, the military industrial complex (since Palantir is a major pentagon contractor)

don’t get me wrong, ultimately jobs are a designed avenue of survival for the working class, but all I’m saying is some jobs are not worth the cost, no matter what they pay. Any job at Palantir is one of those jobs, imo. their devices will be used in the future to enable heinous crimes against the population, and I’d argue already are.
