i actually don’t, because withholding arms shipments from ‘israel’ is popular throughout the entire American electorate. over 80% of Democratic voters endorse a ceasefire. meanwhile, what percentage of Democratic representatives support one? less than 20%? y’all are defending agency loss atp, to which all i have to ask is wtf do y’all actually want? it isn’t representation, that’s for damn sure
But on the other hand I do think that people specifically calling out Dems does make some sense. While republicans show no intention of caring about a positive outcome here, Dems routinely claim to be on the side of human rights and international law. Dems are the ones we’d expect to initiate humanitarian solutions while simultaneously engaging in a nefarious subversion of the issue, whilst republicans just openly don’t give a fuck and offer bo clear route to justice and emancipation.
And ultimately Biden is the one who sat back for two years in complete subservience to one of the most severe moments of Israeli genocidal mania, so I don’t really take issue with people continuing to call him genocide Joe, that is ultimately a large part of the legacy of his last two years in the political sphere and that shouldn’t be forgotten if we hope to construct a better Dem party going into the future.
