In the most genuine way, it is sad how the right has become the party of pedophilia Civility is hard when the opposition stands on protecting and dismissing the most heinous crimes to the most vulnerable groups

Yes, and I condemn him for it. Where’s the condemnation of the right for when Trump called releasing the files a hostile act or the fact his DOJ moved a child sex trafficker to a cozier prison, what about when the trump admin hired a sex offender (someone on the registry)

So you’d be OK with a republican who supports his party but condemns the alleged actions of Trump?

The party defends and dismisses it

It’s wrong. Any leftist will tell you they disagree with it. But how are right wingers not going to direct that same scrutiny towards their own president?

You condemn the actions of your party and expect to be judged by your views rather than by the party’s worst actions. But you refuse to use that same standard for Republicans who also condemn their party’s actions. You’re standard is inconsistent

You’re generalizing that all republicans are not dissatisfied with Trumps alleged actions. Plenty are, I’ve met them on campus. You’re making more enemies where none exist.

The allegations were circulating even prior to the 2024 election. He’s an adjudicated sexual abuser. People STILL voted for him, and elected the most morally reprehensible president we’ve had in decades. He’s incompetent in this pointless war, stripping billions in funding from essential research and healthcare, and lining his own pockets on the taxpayer’s dollar. Any decently intelligent human being could tell you he’s a fucking sham. And people STILL support him.

Do you apply that same standard to every election? If someone supports a democrat despite believing/knowing it is possible that democrat committed serious misconduct, are they equally morally in the wrong, or is this standard unique to trump?

I don’t believe that republicans do condemn the actions of their party

Marquette law school report shows ~23% of republicans view trump unfavorably and ~33% disapprove of his overall job as president. Your assertion that all republicans do not condemn the actions of their party’s nor are satisfied by its stances is simply incorrect.

This doesn’t bode well when your stats are less than 40% for each lol

~30% of 37 million voters is nothing to scoff at. Your claim was republicans do not condemn the actions of their party. Clearly some do. Thus, your belief is incorrect. You can either adjust to a more complex worldview that not everyone who isn’t with your party is an enemy, or keep your eyes shut

I can qualify terms to be more specific if you need me to, I was under the impression that you understood that I can’t account for every single person who identifies as republican. That’s my bad for assuming better of you

It’s not unique at all. This is part of why Platner was immediately dropped from the Senate race. We have standards. Anyone facing credible accusations of sexual assault must back away, I don’t want predators representing me. Same thing when the allegations came out against Cuomo. There hasn’t been a Democratic presidential candidate with those types of damning allegations in my lifetime
