I mean we could have an entire other conversation about what is and isn’t liberalism, but at its most basic when I’m discussing the ideology of liberalism here, it’s specifically the beliefs in the consent of the governed and equality for all. Not that most supposed liberals actually believe in liberalism, but at its heart you could definitely make an argument that Zionism goes against the principles of liberalism

Like I’m not even a liberal, I think there’s many contradictory views in it, but to people who self describe themselves as liberal they at least pretend to care about those things I mentioned

Advocating for a Jewish state would be contradictory to a pluralist state unless the Jewish state operated like a Western liberal democracy and was broadly open to multiculturalism as a concept. I suppose in that sense that is contradictory, but that books identity down to ethnicity which is ultimately a nationalist outlook / lens

To be fair, I am a theorycel. I care about coherent ideologies and philosophies more than playing a team sport. I am far from a liberal but I think that liberalism has proven ineffective against the post-War economic and social changes especially during and following the Nixon administration (not just nationally but on a global scale)

They are liberal economically and socially. The protection of the rights of the individual as opposed to a collective. The embrace of individualism. The rule of law is a major concept in liberalism. Etc etc…

Internally yes but not so much internationally. I mean, we have a pretty silly history of starting coups in nations we don’t like. My concerns are a bit more global
