Republicans aren’t Nazis in the same way Italian fascists weren’t Nazis: their branding was different but they still had the most of the same politics and methods and rhetoric and ideology in common. That’s not better little bro.

As someone who’s more left leaning, how does supporting free market capitalism make you a nazi? The Italians back then were fascists like you said (real ones). This means that they wanted heavy government control over economic decisions (And no republicans are not fascists). Republicans today want very little government control over economic activity

Republicans today want SWEEPING control over both economic and social activity, it’s just based on political loyalty and in-group status rather than standards more liberal opposition would propose. Notably, this is precisely how economic policy was administered under Nazi Germany as well, the word “privatization” was literally coined to refer to the German policy of consolidating market power with collaborators in the private sector.

Republicans don’t want sweeping control that’s just not true. The whole point of being right wing is to want small government and personal freedoms. You may be referring to border control when you say social activity. To which I would reply to you that they want the protection of American culture and the American economy. Illegal immigration could harm both of those.

The GOP wants a big government that controls Americans’ personal lives, a massive surveillance state, and literally has been threatening companies that don’t get in line with their agenda, to the point of literally taking bribes in exchange for favors via the FTC. Republicans haven’t wanted small government in decades. They want low taxes for rich people, but a everything else they want huge and intrusive

No, I’m correctly assessing the fact that the Republican Party *is a far right party*, and that even nominally moderate people within the party are still materially supporting the far right activities of the party as an institution.

Why can’t they be held accountable for their leader? All but like two GOP members of congress support him and therefore his policies and actions, so therefore all GOP members either voted for him or for people who support him… stop trying to dodge blame for the people who are raping our country.

Republicans want government control of basically everything: who’s allowed to exercise their 1st amendment rights, where your electricity comes from, whether consenting adults can get married, whether children can get treatments that their doctors say they need, what the media is allowed to report on and how they cover it, who gets food assistance, what topics are allowed to be taught in school, what books are allowed in libraries, the list goes on

They’ve violated people’s first amendment rights many times, using police force and deportations to prevent protests. But go on, tell me how they’re the party of free speech. They’ve repeatedly fought to restrict renewable energy development. But go on, tell me about the importance of energy independence. They’ve consistently fought to ban gay marriage, and to take away their rights. But go on, tell me how much they value equality.

They’ve banned gender affirming surgery, hormone therapy, and abortions for minors, even when both doctors and parents agree that it’s necessary. But go on, tell me about the importance of parental rights. They’ve used silenced dissenting voices in the media by both buying out their networks and threatening legal action. But once again, tell me how the Republicans are the party of free speech.

They’re constantly fighting to change eligibility requirements for food assistance to make fewer people eligible. But go on, tell me about the importance of “Christian Values” to the right. In multiple states they’ve banned any mention of topics they don’t like, through “don’t say gay” bills and the like. But sure, the Republicans care so much about academic freedom.

Multiple red states have banned books discussing controversial issues from public libraries. But sure, keep talking about how the democrats want to ban dissenting opinions. Republicans have used their power to remove our freedoms and restrict our rights over and over again. But please, keep telling me how they “don’t want sweeping control” 🙄

They deport illegal immigrants who have committed a violent crime. Not to “prevent protests.” That has nothing to do the first amendment. I’ll take your word on the second one only because idk anything about that. They’ve never fought to ban gay rights or gay marriage man get real. Name one time they tried to do that. Banning children from surgically having their penis or breasts removed is a good thing and if you disagree I’d honestly question your morality. It doesn’t matter what the do…

It doesn’t matter what the doctors or parents want, this is a kids life. Both sides have biased media. For the republicans it’s Fox News and OAN. For the left it’s CNN, MSNBC, and others. They want to change eligibility requirements because people take advantage of those government systems and live off of government assistance which is not what it’s meant for.

Republicans are fascists because they’re a far-right party that preaches the return to a mythical golden age of the nation by brutally antagonizing a scapegoat minority who they blame for our decline from that nonexistent golden age in the first place, while consolidating economic/political power in favored, loyalist populations to give an illusion of progress.
