for simplicity lets imagine 3 tiers, high mid and low. like in a pyramid scheme, the highest tiers benefit most, they own the product/ lifestyle. the mid tiers benefit only through selling the product to the low. the better you sell it, or the earlier you get on, the better u do. but you dont HAVE the lifestyle/product, you are a salesman

the low tiers think the product works for everyone and that it can work for them. they buy and consume and buy and consume… they get nowhere obviously unless they decide to try to sell. they’re then “let in on” the scam. climbing that ladder (of mid-tier-ness) is grueling. its humiliating honestly. every dollar u make has to go back into keeping up image. you become what the algorithm wants. you “sell your soul” in the same way a pop star sells theirs to their record label. except you have no
