it’s not just about taxes. them spending that money in elections is like a get out of jail free card (assuming the people they’re spending the money on win). to have influence over congress and the white house is to loosen restrictions and standards, meaning that you can produce goods for cheaper and sell them for the same price. it benefits them a lot. it’s very evil, but they definitely make more money when they succeed.
