When leftists produce a candidate, the entire media apparatus conforms to push them out of a race. It happens every time, even when they win. Look at zohran mamdani. Did the democrats back him during the race? Fuck no. They just made AI ads of him calling him a jihadist.

Fuck are you on about “produce a candidate” that’s not how it works, candidates choose to run, and then people choose who they’re supporting out of those options. It’s fuckin February of 2026, there’s TWO WHOLE YEARS until the primary, we have no clue who Newsom’s opponents are yet, why are you immediately insistent that everyone blow him before the shit even starts?

I’ve heard it from Democrats for years “oh don’t criticize during the general, do it during the primary and then fall in line” which I have done, every election I’ve been of age for, I have swallowed my criticisms of the Democrat and voted for them in the general because I live in a swing state. Now it’s “don’t even criticize the potential/likely candidates two years before the primary” and that’s just plain fucking ridiculous.

Oh yeah, and I’m moving to a solid blue state this year, so now I’m REALLY not gonna feel obligated to vote for a shitty Democrat if they put one up. Voting 3rd party in NC would be fucking stupid. Voting 3rd party in Oregon? A lot less stupid. I’d be throwing a lot less away doing a protest vote in politically solid state.

True. I’m in a swing state so we’ll see what happens. I probably won’t be voting if it’s Kamala or Gavin. But like, if it’s fairly new blood, even if it’s just some mildly progressive neoliberal, I’ll capitulate again. It just can’t be a pick that’s obviously doomed to fail.

If it does end up being Gavin I don’t even know what I’d do man. I have such a strong belief in the necessity of voting in a democratic country. But idk if I even believe in our democracy in the slightest anymore.

I mean I’m still gonna be voting, the ballot includes all the local offices that actually matter on it too, I’m just kinda cynical about the presidency and how it’s either “The Worst Guy Maybe Ever, who wants to sign the We’re Gonna Kill You Act into law” vs. “Random Invertebrate” every time
