Obliterate every last IRGC commander, pickaxe mountain, underground storage facilities, and keep up the blockade and economic pain. Drop flyers and let the ppl know a new gov is being established. Provide air support for protestors and ground after basij and other are eliminated to protect the people.

Nope, the DoD knows regime change will require American boots on the ground for a chance at that, and Trump is not willing to stomach it. He took the half-measure, which landed us further than where we started

Do it. After an intensive military campaign and persuading the public to revolt, provide ground troops to support the public. This middle ground is worse than where we started. Either go all in and finish the job or lose everything.

it’s a lose lose, either way the people of Iran will hate us more, and will have been destabilized by a power vacuum, or the power vacuum created by the eventual discontinuation of US support for a puppet government. if we leave now, we save the US taxpayer billions, and get the same end result in 3 years.

You’re arguing the wrong premise. The question isn’t if we SHOULD intervene; we already started and need an exit. An exit will either be tolls on global trade and no uranium concessions from Iran, or finish the job. If we never went in, we could discuss if we should attack Iran or not. We already started so that question is out the window, hindsight is 20/20.

You’re still arguing if we should intervene or not. That’s not the question because we did intervene. It’s how do we end it. Was Trump stupid to start this conflict without a clear goal or end? Yes. But that’s not what we’re arguing. How do you propose we get out of this and end the conflict? Obviously we shouldn’t be involved now; but that’s an idiots argument. Anyone can see $5 gas and say “this is dumb”.
