I do not want you to pray for that. Please donât, itâs not respectful to me or my autonomy. Someone who is actually loving and compassionate might say âhey, are you interested in learning more about Christ?â the compassion is evident in this because itâs a question, able to be answered by a simple no. I would answer âno,â and compassionately and respectfully, you move on.
I'm not going to sit here and lie to you. I pray for every living soul to accept the divinity of Christ because I believe it will lead to their eternal salvation. Whether it actually happens is up to God and God alone, he would never let someone into his kingdom who doesn't want to be there. But if there is even an inkling of a doubt at the moment you die, you still have a chance, and that's why I pray for you. It doesn't negate your free will
Check out this article. You are never going to get a positive response when praying for someone who explicitly does not want to be prayed for. https://www.theodysseyonline.com/why-people-dont-want-prayers also, if you must pray, like an obsessive-compulsive type deal, jus keep that to yourself
As a confirmed catholic, how are u gonna sit there in a country that was literally built upon religious freedom and tell other people to conform to YOUR religion. Itâs called faith and beliefs for a reason bc who are u to tell them they are wrong. U are entitled to your own relationship with whatever god u believe in but so is everyone else. So respect the country or respectfully, leave it
As another Catholic who is confirmed in Christ, absolutely agreed. Pope Francis has some very good quotes on loving your neighbor. âJesus asks us not to decide who is close enough to be our neighbor, but rather that we ourselves become neighbors to all. The Samaritan challenges us to put aside all differences and, in the face of suffering, to draw near to others with no questions asked.â
Would you refuse to aid an Atheist, Muslim, or Jewish person in time of need? Obviously not, the idea is that Christian presence should be welcoming no matter othersâ beliefs. To open your heart and arms to all is to open the hearts and arms of others to Christ. Be the shoulder which weary hearts may rest, be the shepherd of lost lambs and they may find their way home. These are the fundamentals of Catholicism and Christianity as a whole and to reject these principles is to reject Christ.
As someone who has done missionary work in Tanzania, helping people comes before spreading His word. People need to learn to read before they can read the Bible. People need homes before they can open them in His name. They need bread in order to break it with neighbors. While spreading His word is very important, you must help others first and foremost to make that happen.
