
education is the main roadblock for a family leaving poverty. people often reflect the economic standing of their parents. poor families cannot afford the education that would free them from their chains. it’s also the only way to have a true “meritocracy” which ik right wingers get all hard for.
im not an expert on specific test effectiveness in the education system. included in education being a human right, there should be help extended to families that do struggle financially. You are right that free college does not address the issue that poor children recieve much worse education before they reach college. one big thing that would solve some issues is getting rid of property taxes as a primary way to fund schools. its literally state mandated class discrimination
researching modern race discrimination in US schools may be mind opening for you. john oliver did an episode on it for Last Week Tonight some time ago. it touches on the class stuff a little bit, but if you go into it thinking abt that you’ll notice it everywhere. highly recommend
