That’s entirely different, this is not a safety system it’s a capability system. Safe terrain avoidance in low visibility is already an extremely well established procedure, hence why there aren’t airliners constantly crashing every time it’s foggy

Except midair collision avoidance actually wasn’t working all that well comparatively with just controllers, and midairs were happening too often for comfort, so we got TCAS. Controlled flight into terrain is *extremely* uncommon in modern commercial aviation and almost always the result of gross pilot error. I won’t say this feature adds zero safety, but it’s primarily there to enable a lower decision altitude

There are still plenty of business jets that don’t come with it and nobody sees them as unsafe the way they would an airliner without TCAS

If you want to disagree with their reasoning in removing it that’s fine, but claiming it’s some major safety failure is just a ridiculous argument, Dassault wouldn’t provide the jet that way if it were
