you drive in two dimensions every day. x and y adding the ability of flight would be adding the z dimension, a third dimension. if we were currently limited to one dimension for driving (rather than two), all cars would go in a straight line with no turning functionality.

How is it possible to drive in 2D? Do you mean in a video game?

I mean you generally don’t have any decision on the vertical displacement of a car, you just make it go forward/backward left and right. The slope of the ground determines height above sea level, but the car is always on the surface

There’s no control within the car that augments its height but you’re still changing altitudes when you drive since roads aren’t completely flat.

Functionally you drive in 2 dimensions, in the most literal sense it’s 3

Unless for whatever reason you’re taking altitude into account for your Sunday drive

Yeah but that means nothing when every other vehicle operates in the same surface. Like the height dimension makes it so you can have 2d cross traffic without ever actually at risk of colliding w each other

Effectively you only drive on two axes because there's no up and down component. You're just driving on a plane that's changing slope

otherwise I agree with your claim.

that's what I'm saying. The average American can barely drive in two dimensions let alone three

I mean well there’s some supporting evidence for you LMAO I might’ve misinterpreted your post, especially after seeing #1’s comment. oopsie :s

(also I should’ve said physical dimensions, but it doesn’t matter anymore because my comment was rooted in my own misunderstanding)
