No, Trump tried to bluff his way to a ceasefire. It's not in Iran's interest to ceasefire while they're winning.

I wouldn’t say they’re winning but they have a strategy that might work well for them. I also think it’s pretty unethical since it involves targeting civilian infrastructure so that air defenses get used

They're very obviously winning. What're you on about... why would the US be asking for a ceasefire and for Europe to join if Iran wasn't winning? And no, Iran is conducting this war as ethically as possible. The only side that has hit school children and hospitals so far is Israel/US.

Iran hit several airports and hotels

They've only hit hotels where US military personnel were hiding and airports used for attacking them. Again, only one side is murdering school children.

I know, and the attacks on schools are abhorrent. But Abu Dhabi and Dubai’s civilian airports are not being used for strikes. There are air bases for that.

Iran was already attacking the airbases. They disabled the airports because the support flights can just land there then. Legitimate targeting of a adversary allowing it's facilities to be used against them.

That’s definitely not how that works, and it caused civilian casualties

How does it work then?

Pretty simply. Can’t target civilian buildings or buildings that are reasonably believed to hold civilians unless the military advantage gained significantly outweighs the collateral damage (it almost never does). Unless I’m misunderstanding your logic, your logic seems to justify bombing hospitals and schools in Gaza too

The US shouldn’t be hiding in civilian hotels either, but the airports are a separate matter. Targeting DXB, the busiest airport in the world (by international passenger volume), was either inaccurate, negligent, or intentional

It's officially confirmed now that the US military is using civilian infrastructure. The 6 KIA that the US admitted so far were at a civilian port. As opposed to Israel targeting schools in Gaza where there is no military use

I saw. My point stands that *airports* should not have been targeted. The US has military bases which are legitimate targets. There are separate UAE military installations near Dubai airport as well. They should not have been hitting the civilian passenger airport terminals.
