Stop appealing to European laws and defend your positions using arguments. Explain WHY we should change the law, not WHO has similar laws.

That’s not appealing to European law. It’s acknowledging that you’re defending something arbitrary as if it’s objective. The existence of European laws proves that. In the topic of making uniform/consistent laws, YOU have to defend why the US has it right. If OOP was arguing Europe had it right they’d have to also. But all they advocated for was consistency

What I’m trying to say is that the existence of any laws says nothing about morality. If the entire world had the age of consent at 14 that says nothing about whether it is right or not. I don’t really have a firm argument because I haven’t read too much on developmental psychology.

But we weren’t talking about solution. We were talking about a problem. And people were getting called a pedophile for merely bringing up the notion there’s a problem. You gave your piece on a topic that had nothing to do with what was said
