Losing bases in Europe would be detrimental to us power projection not just in Europe, but in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, etc. Ports in Spain for example are the only places where our destroyers can replenish their vertical launch systems in that part of the world. We would lose about half of our military stockpile as well. We have warehouse full of hardware in Europe
