TRUMP SUPPORTERS: What do y'all think/have to say about the fact that America's absorbed 96% of the burden of Trump's tariffs, while foreign exporters have just absorbed 4%?

better phrasing: 96% of trumps tariffs are a tax on citizens. trump is raising taxes, and since it is a flat tax, the poorer a person is, the harder it hits. targeting the people struggling and making it harder to afford things.

You know what I, a Trump supporter, think about that?

the 4% that isnt a tax? it has alienated allies, started/pushed relationships that would not have progressed otherwise, all because trump wanted fairy tale investment numbers into boosting american manufacturing, something which takes years to set up (so those numbers arent even that big actually). and when everything is set up, the new jobs pay less than service or whatever other jobs there are, with worse conditions and raised prices.

so 96% of tariff revenue is americans forced to fork over their already short money, so trump can see big number related to american manufacturing spurring up, which isnt actually that good for americans, is slightly better for the elite class but not even that good for them, and allies have been shooed away, enemies bolstered. the only reason to do this is bc someone has a hyper isolationist view of the american future, which doesnt work, but also heavily implies war is coming.

Why is it that all data that disagrees with the president must be fake? Isn’t that a little like North Korea propaganda attitude

Canada gave China the “MOST FAVORABLE” partner tariff rate of 6%, and now the EU signed a historic trade agreement with a coalition of South American nations in response to the new tariff threat 😭

I didn’t call it fake because I don’t like it, I called it fake because it’s fake lmao

How? A tariff is definitionally a tax on US businesses that import. It artificially raises prices on goods imported and sold here (the majority of goods). It’s not as though the US can tell China to pay them money, that’s just not how taxes and trade works
