There’s another (much more realistic alternative), Mamdani wins, Trump and the federal government punishes NYC by withholding funds or more directly interfering, republicans claim it’s a failure of socialism, progressives claim it only failed because of outside intervention, and moderate Democrats cry in the corner while they realize no one ever loved them. Nobody changes sides and we just become more polarized.
