This is a chart crime, but why were they actually performing half as many cancer screenings and other services? Was it because of the ACA?

As in they went to their GP instead of planned parenthood

From what relatives who are doctors and nurses have told me, cancer screenings are more expensive to run and planned parenthood doesn’t have the funding to keep up with every possible test.

It was actually because the advice used to be to get a pap smear every year but they changed the recommendation to every 3 years (now it’s currently 5 years until you hit a certain age)

Planned parenthood is very well equipped for pap smears but only some of them have the equipment for mammograms which is probably where that came from, but it hasn’t had a decline like the one shown in the chart
