A 15 minute city is not inherently a problem by itself but they will inevitably include biometric identification checkpoints at entry/exit to the city and use them in a totalitarian manner

Can you explain how you came to that conclusion? Humanity has had 15 minute cities for almost all of existence, it’s only since the ‘60s and car-dependent culture that we’ve gotten rid of them.

There is no need to group everything so close together in a manner that doesn't form naturally unless you intend to put borders on that space

Bro just threw in “15 minute city” along the surveillance when it’s just good city design where you can walk/bike/public transit to common areas you need (food, healthcare, education, shopping)

More importantly than making it all accessible, it also groups all of those essential services together in a small area which can be more easily controlled via land borders

You don’t know what a 15 minute city is. It doesn’t mean EVERYTHING in the city is within 15 minutes of each other, it means that every neighborhood has what it needs within a 15 minute walk, like this:

Each of those things aren’t the only ones, it’s just that there is one of them within 15 minutes of everywhere.

Still groups it all together in a smaller area when it is designed specifically for that purpose

Or it spreads them out, using mixed-use development, so you can.. walk to different services within 15 minutes Instead of 30 minutes to work, 20 minutes opposite direction to doctor, 15 minutes in 3rd direction to shopping, etc

Idk bro I would never want to get all my groceries and then walk back with them to my house even though it's already like a 5 min walk. I would need to bring the cart from the grocery store to my house and back and would end up looking like a homeless person

Are you feeding a family of 10? If you use the paper bags, they hold more. My groceries can fit in one or two of them.
