The UN has a vote for a new pandemic preparedness declaration so in the future the world can better respond to a pandemic. It passed 153-3 You’ll never guess the three countries that voted against it. Truly a head scratcher…

It’s so funny how if the UN was a group of like 200 individuals instead of 200 countries, there’s a significant chance that they would’ve just beaten the shit out of America and his shitty little friends outside the meeting hall by now

I wonder who’d be expected to pay for 95% of whatever expenses it would incur

Yeah it’s called having responsibilities when you’re a gigantic extremely powerful country. Something something great power and responsibility

It’s very easy to be in favor of something when someone else foots the bill

Again, if you’re a huge ass country, then yes you should be expected to use your weight to help the rest of the world. If you don’t want that responsibility then gtfo

Or vote no. Which they did. It’s not like they’re stopping the rest of the world from doing it with their own money

Yeah but it’s like the USA alone, could military (physically) crush 199 people, and also supplies the 199 along with their friends as the number one food exporter. So the 199 vote like “food should be a right!” And America, who’s doing all the supplying is like “No? No. wtf?” 199 votes “give us more money!” America: “Are you fucking high?!”

Also they aren’t even democratically elected… they are literally a conglomerate of appointees with no authority who can’t even keep their own troops from starting sex slave rings when they go “rescue” a country. Why we are still providing them funding is absolutely absurd.

I mean tbh America can’t exactly stop its own troops from doing heinous shit when they go “rescue” a country either so that’s not much of a leg for America to stand on

Worst thing I’m aware of was the prison incidents in Iraq which were a humiliation thing. You’re right, we should have been able to prevent that. But I’m not aware of our soldiers operating any sex slavery rings dating back to the beginning of Iraq Afghanistan… or the gulf war… or Cold War… Possibly Vietnam.

I don’t think they ran rings but they definitely were out there raping people en masse. I don’t think they organized it, they just kinda did it.

There were prostitution rings on ships I can recall being investigated. Gay/straight/otherwise. But nothing I can recall invading and then setting up sex slavery rings with rescued civilians. The Iraq prisoner abuse were allegedly combatants (not that it makes it any less horrible) but studying how these things can be prevented, you really have to mess up to be an unelected governing body “voting” on what democracies should do, while your own troops are notorious for sexually enslaving the 1/2

And then the Evil Woke Left didn’t like the war crimes, so we elected a guy whose pick for Secretary of Defense/War’s entire thing is “Man, we gotta get back to raping and pillaging, and stop listening to these bleeding hearts who say that raping and pillaging is bad”

I’m def not saying our military is sinless, but taking orders from the unelected on what we should be doing when they have a worse record than us, isn’t something I’m going to take seriously.

Our troops or the UN? It’s possible I missed something when this was an area of focus for one of my studies.
