Also btw the FBI also thinks you’re fucking stupid, as usual. You don’t just lose data from a bad hdd. It can be recovered with genuine investigatory intent, whether deleted, heads crash, or some data gets corrupted… in some cases even overwritten.

It’s actually very difficult to fully destroy data in its entirety unless you physically destroy a drive. That’s WHY they’re destroyed to begin with else resells would be massively profitable for companies.

To clarify, on SSDs overwriting is typically permanent, but on HDDs, which ahem were notably used in the prison DVRs Epstein was held in, there is in fact specialized equipment that can recover data in labs.
