the left champions universal liberal values, but radical multiculturalism denies any value hierarchy. If no norms can be privileged, democracy, equality, and free speech can’t be enforced at all and this in turn makes their own ideals undefendable

I don’t agree with the last sentence, free speech isn’t rly a “left” issue, it’s bc everyone was bored and needed a way to feed their superiority complex while the political state was also moving towards the left.

In a certain technicality, but I think most liberals hold those ideals because they want as little suffering for minorities as possible under capitalism. What do you define as liberal democracy?
