People think there were hundreds of thousands of protestors peacefully asking for democracy that were mowed down at the square. In reality, the government ordered no violence in the square, the students demands were decentralized and more complicated, some of the protestors were armed, and the violence was in the surrounding areas as troops attempted to reach the square

Notice the wording: “some PLA soldiers *also died* during the clashes”. Instead of saying that soldiers were killed by being burned alive, Wikipedia says “died” to make their killings seem natural.
