To those saying it was peaceful, these stats came from the CCP. Official CCP Tally: 241 dead[a] Independent Estimates: 300 to 2,700 dead Modern Scholarship: 700 to 2,600 dead[b]

Just looking into it, what they were saying is that unarmed people died in regions around the square not that it was totally peaceful, if that’s what you’re trying to imply.

Yes, they said there was a massacre in the surrounding areas of the city, but , importantly, not in Tiananmen Square

Imagine someone posted something about massacres in Warsaw resulting from Nazis. Then you say ā€œwell actually it didn’t happen in Warsawā€ in that analogy it just seems like your running cover for Nazis lol. Just a weird detail to focus in on.

Just bc you provide funding something doesn’t mean you direct the content, so if I found a media company that wasn’t funded by the federal government then you would believe it?

People think there were hundreds of thousands of protestors peacefully asking for democracy that were mowed down at the square. In reality, the government ordered no violence in the square, the students demands were decentralized and more complicated, some of the protestors were armed, and the violence was in the surrounding areas as troops attempted to reach the square

upvote 6 downvote
🌊
Anonymous replying to -> landtrust 14h

The mainstream narrative from historians and media is that it didn’t happen in Tiananmen Square. That’s why mainstream media is reporting it that way.

Not true, for example most people think tank man was run over

You’re doing the thing where you’re responding to an argument no one is seriously making. Mainstream media has already reported on what you’re saying no one is hiding any of these facts.

Sure it does, especially when the content in question not only contradicts sources that you didn’t fund and also happen to align with your political goals lmao. Why don’t you go on ahead to the CIA’s website and read their declassified documents on what was actually happening in Tiananmen Square where can you see how it was a psyop lmao

Anonymous replying to -> #3 14h

Then why would Trump defund PBS if he could just make them say whatever he wanted? Notice how you can’t name a source you would trust it’s bc there isn’t one. This is just a dogmatic thing you believe.

Chinese civilians, including student protesters, workers, and residents of Beijing who had joined the pro-democracy demonstrations. Some People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers and police personnel also died during clashes.

The majority of killings occurred on the roads leading to Tiananmen Square and elsewhere in Beijing, not solely within the square itself.

Notice the wording: ā€œsome PLA soldiers *also died* during the clashesā€. Instead of saying that soldiers were killed by being burned alive, Wikipedia says ā€œdiedā€ to make their killings seem natural.

Also doesn’t change the fact they opened fire on non armed protestors. Maybe they wouldn’t need guns if China allowed more legitimate forms to protest their government. That’s the consequence of being authoritarian cope.
