alright, I’ve double checked it, and not every writer at marvel agrees that the allegorical nature between mutants and the civil rights movement was ever integral to the writing. But, in recent years, individual mutants have become allegorical in other ways, such as being an allegory for LGBTQ+ rights.

Gay people never killed a hundred people due to being gay so it’s a bad allegory

“You are a god among insects, dont you ever forget that.” And “in chess the pawns go first” were two of his hardest lines. And the tattoo scene.

Both young and old magneto actors did great work honestly.

My favorite (set of) lines: Wolverine: “you’re a dick.” Cyclops: “Okay.”

Idk I didn’t watch Xmen or anything that I can remember (besides some movie where I was really young) I just remember loving Magneto from this Marvel video game because his uniform looked cool and I thought his abilities were really cool 🧲

magneto's a holocaust survivor whose major motivation is preventing another situation like the one he had to live through from happening to the mutant population

An allegory doesn’t have to be 1:1 to be profound.

Gay people also can’t fly and walk through walls, tho it’d be cool if they could

Current day marvel would not have the balls to open up a film during the Holocaust like the first X men film did. Those films were built fucking differently
