You’re right, the difference is that in all cases, the president, the person who is supposed to represent and unite the people of the US, should be empathetic to the ones affected by the tragedy. Political violence should also include a harsh condemnation of the act and a subsequent cooling of any divisive rhetoric they use. Oh wait, Trump can’t even do the first part.
