Ngl it pisses me off when someone has zero frame of reference for what prices/wages look like in different parts of the country. Like yes man I’m sure $25/hr fed minimum wage sounds great to you in Cali but it would literally tank Appalachia’s economy

I don't think even small town MA would survive $25 minimum wages

It would totally upend our economy lmao what? I’m all for a slow increase to get it up to where it should be but a jump like that wouldn’t be sustainable

North Carolina has a law where they can’t even raise minimum wage above federal. So I think they would have better success implementing it at their own localized speed as you’re saying

I’m also talking about when I’m online and someone tells me I’m getting ripped off for *only* making 20 an hour for an entry level job that’s mildly labor involved lol

Well, I mean, I make 23 and we kinda are…….i would not be able to afford living here if it wasn’t for my family letting me stay for free. Is it a great amount of money comparatively? Absolutely At the same time you and I both know you deserve more to live on. I literally haven’t bought a more than 20 things for myself this year. It all went to student loans
