Someone told me this a few years ago and it’s still one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received. Nothing is better than going through life not giving af what others say or think abt you. It’s ok to be eccentric

Every democratic decision in office is either prompted by one’s own moral theory on what should or should not happen, supported by power (money) and therefore a foreign morality, or both work together. What’s so different?

As is, this perspective can satisfy an ends justify the means approach even though the good one might expect in the future is not guaranteed even when researched meticulously. More importantly, the narcissistic thinking behind completely selfish decisions wouldn’t be possible without a line of thought similar, I’m not saying that’s you, just that it’s a slippery slope.
