Genuinely why does anyone think voting for these clowns does anything, when they ✨intentionally sabotage their own opposition✨ by choosing 7 random politicians who aren't up for reelection to vote for conservative bills?

What the actual fuck #1? Did you really just get that pissy over my critiquing THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY? Maybe look in a fucking mirror and ask what you’re defending, when all I said is that we need to have hope in ourselves and not the institution that failed us. Like what? Even deleted your thread cmon

(And no, I’m not a magat, I was discussing the rise of fascism and complacency, and how fascists do not, historically, give up their power willingly)

You changed your reply I gotta retype😭 All I literally said was the DNC will not repair this and that fascism can not be voted out, that we should be prepared to fight for what we believe in and our lives if we actually want to stop the rise of fascism. If the only violence you care about is *resistance* and not the violence perpetrated by the state, or systems of oppression, idk what to say. Violence in response to oppression is not equal to the violent oppression…

Like, you see why I mentioned complacency of the Democratic Party right? “Civility” is more important than justice, even if it means maintaining and upholding fascism and white supremacy.

You realize I was advocating for self defense essentially, right? That’s it. That we should fight to defend ourselves if need be. Like I said, maybe look in the mirror and ask yourself what you’re fighting for.

You know, you should read some work from during the civil rights act. Have you ever heard of the critique that Malcolm X and MLK jr shared regarding white liberals/white moderates? How they’re a bigger threat due to the incessant addiction to civility? They’d rather police/judge peoples appearances in society rather than the content of their character. Here’s a quote from the letter from a Birmingham jail, paragraph 19:

“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action””

It’s not a matter of supporting violence, it’s a matter off indirectly supporting oppression on the basis of privilege. You don’t suffer from it as much, it doesn’t matter.

You realize that you don’t hold a moral high ground for essentially believing that victims of oppression and abuse shouldn’t fight back against their abusers like? I literally have been focused on fighting back as self defense, and you’re crying “violence violence” Acting as if sitting down peacefully will stop the nazis from shoving everyone who isn’t cis, straight, and white into camps. The fuck?

You don’t support fighting against oppression either, apparently.

Ah also, as a final note; this is something I learned very recently, and I’m starting to share it as much as possible: Look up “white supremacy culture” and look into its ties into the concept of “civility”, “niceness” and “people pleasing”; specifically here in the USA (but it’s applicable worldwide) We’ve been raised to be “nice” and “civil” but it’s really just upholding those underlying foundations rooted in white supremacy; think about how it’s “polite” to not discuss politics and such

You could just turn off notifications? Why do you delete the context of the conversation, others can’t read it now😭

Also, that avoiding politics thing literally links to what I mentioned about indirectly upholding white supremacy but whatever, enjoy your night ig

It’s easy to rewrite the context after you delete all your messages, isn’t it? go back to “avoiding politics” or whatever you do.
