I don’t like Trump or his supporters but you can’t just hit someone for wearing Trump leggings lol that’s clearly assault. It’d be different if the girl got in her face and pushed her or something but she didn’t. This grown woman couldn’t control herself and hit a child. Let’s also point that out. It was a minor, they couldn’t even vote anyway. This is just a weird hill to die on

1. Try arguing that in any legal setting 2. In NJ you can only escalate to violence if there is an attack or a 100% certain imminent attack; a teenager wearing Trump merch does not constitute an imminent attack

So even if you could successfully argue that trump merch constitutes a threat (which would be pretty much impossible), you’d then additionally need to prove that it was a threat that would be certainly followed by action
