he turned a few million into a trillion at one point he didn’t just walk his way there all willy nilly. He’s incredibly smart and his leading EV company and Space organization that typically outperforms nasa with less funding is proof. Also he doesn’t have all that money. It’s net worth most of which is in tesla stock. If he sold it all quite literally the entire stock market would crash. It’s not like he can just give it all away even though he does donate quite a bit

hes smart in that "his" businesses he bought into early and he directed them to paths that just get endless government funding, subsidies, etc. would spacex fly if it werent for nasa money? fuck no. multi trillion dollar ipo valuation? hell no

He didn’t found the ev company and he doesn’t have a physics degree and basically failed out of undergrad physics so he doesn’t have the capabilities to do space or ev work also nasa does more than just space stuff the majority of the budget is all of the other stuff nasa does and is deeply underfunded plus space x loses money, it doesn’t make and tesla sales are consistently tanking with the global market preferring chinese EVs and his autonomous driving is way behind waymo

This isn’t just lately, it’s just that he’s only now been exposed. I’m studying aerospace engineering, and every time I hear him talk about rockets, it almost gives me a headache, he’s just saying gibberish that sounds good. And he didn’t create anything himself, especially not from the ground up, considering he never even started on the ground. He just takes credit for the work of real engineers. I will give him that though, he’s very good at convincing people that work is his own.

Some of it does, which is bad, but the majority comes from consumers who voluntarily supported his businesses.

Ahhhh I didn't know this. You're right, he IS very good at that 😭 I just used to like that he seemed to want to help the environment and seemed super locked in on eco-friendly projects. But now I see that he's really just insane and doesn't care about anything and just says and does shit randomly 😭

And in all fairness, he was a pretty well respected guy in the tech world until he started going off the deep end with drugs and his political takes. It’s obviously very debatable how much of a role he actually plays in the innovations at his company but there’s no denying Tesla and SpaceX have done some pretty incredible things
