It’s funny to me when an American citizen decides to go to another country because they hate the USA, yet they need to go through all the steps to live there but don’t expect it from people coming here.

This is such a clown comment. The reason why is because if you showed up to another country requesting asylum and showed them your US passport, they’d laugh in your face and say you have no credible fear of persecution in your home country. Unless your name is Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, or some other person the US gov is going after

You know people come here for safety, right? The U.S. immigration system can take decades, those people don’t have decades they, a lot of the time, have weeks.

Other countries don't have masked thugs kidnap brown people and send them to foreign mega prisons with no due process

Not defending that at all, but it’s usually because the other countries that *would* do that have nothing preventing them from committing human rights violations on their own soil, such as Russia

This goes for all places. If someone from Mexico went to Iceland they would have to go through an intense process. It doesn’t matter that way

Do you think getting asylum in the US is not an intense process or something?

No it is, but everyone acts like the US is the only country like that when almost every country is the same.

The US takes significantly longer because of the immigration court backlog, and sometimes outright denies entry to asylum seekers without hearing their case
