Should people who spread deadly propaganda, like anti-vaxxers, be punished?

As a general rule, I don’t really like the idea of the government enforcing what is true or not and making decisions about who can face legal consequences for basically making untrue statements. Imagine what the current administration would do with that power

i don't think anti-vaxxers should have custody of their children, if that counts

The enforcement here is the hard part. Theoretically, absolutely. I’m just trying to think of how best this can be implemented without it being misused. Systematic deplatforming of anti-vaxxers could be effective, but corporations suck and generally don’t do that.

We don’t need a department of truth. The first amendment is actually pretty cool.

It’s nice to think this kind of thing would just be applied to anti-vax propaganda but the next thing you know, being anti-ICE is “deadly propaganda” because they’re taking the murderers off the streets and you can be jailed for it. I don’t want to go that route

not really because they're pushing propaganda tho, but because they're unfit to care for a child's medical needs. imo that's child abuse
