If you take all the red states together and add them up, they would have a GDP of $8 trillion, which would the the 3rd largest economy on the planet Right now, red states consistently report the lowest unemployment rates (South Dakota - 2%, North Dakota - 2.5%) whereas blue areas have some of the highest (DC - 6.7%, Cali - 5.5%, Jersey - 5.4%) Kansas led the entire nation in GDP growth in third quarter 2025 with 6.5% Red states also often feature lower tax burdens and better business climates
