Good luck retiring without the stock market
The stock market should be illegal. The fact that you can earn money from someone else’s work is fucked up to begin with and that doesn’t even factor in that you need disposable income to invest which effectively bans large groups of people

do you not see the issue with that????? oh my god bro

The issue with ordinary people being able to retire with hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions?

the issue with ordinary people having to GAMBLE to afford to live when they're old.

also that's the best case scenario. now run me through the stuff that actually happens, and the worst cases. because i guarantee you retiring with millions bc of the stock market is not happening to every person investing.

Literally a boring old average investment portfolio with something like a roth ira will get you there

still gambling tho.

It’s literally not

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 12w

it literally is. there is no 100% guarantee with stocks you will retire with all this. or even get money back. you'd have just as much luck going to vegas and putting it on black.

There’s several reasons. Uninvested cash doesn’t earn much money from interest by comparison (opportunity cost). There are tax advantages to investing for your retirement as opposed to throwing it in an ordinary savings account. And you get fucked by inflation if you hold cash. Imagine if you retired in 2020 with only cash. Inflation would have royally fucked you

why is your response to "fuck stock markets" "haha the system takes advantage of you so bad that you can't live after retirement without it"

If you prefer less risk, treasury bonds are the best you can get. Just pray the government doesn’t default 💀

not to gamble

my solution lowkey isn't viable rn, until the rest of yall stop dick riding billionaires

Genuinely what is your solution

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 12w

that's deadass what you are saying.. "every option is shaky but you should choose this one because it also benefits the billionaires that like this system"

upvote 1 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> OP 12w

we have got to kill these billionaires. they are hoarding money, that is the problem.

oh so you think murder will solve affording retirement? 😭

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #2 12w

yes i think murdering the wealth hoarding pigs will lead to people being able to retire without investing in the pigs' companies. eat the rich baby

upvote 1 downvote

so that actually doesn’t solve inflation and doesn’t help you pay for things when you retire.

we won't know until we try, will we

the money isn't growing on trees, it's just lining the pockets of the billionaires who own the companies you buy stocks for. give them more money! let them hoard more wealth!

Literally driving to work is a gamble. Reward: you make money. Risk: you get paralyzed in a car crash

no i'm just not ignorant thinking one person can do it alone. i'm very active in my community, but ok, whatever you think

Better not do it at all, crashing just lines the pockets of the car industry

If you want to be nihilist, aren’t you riding a billionaire right now? Literally typing on an app that sends your information to god knows who and serves you ad slop. You really have zero choice. You’re always riding billionaires

It’s not gambling, it’s buying ownership in a company that is what a stock is, it is a share in a company so you own a piece of it. If you buy apple, google, J.P. Morgan etc. you will be able to retire and they will give you dividends every month. You have no idea on how stocks actually work, and it’s only gambling if you buy shitty risky pharmaceutical companies lmao
